Every morning at sunrise, Farmer Jenkins would pull up in his big red truck to feed all the hogs. Ever since Harry was a piglet, he dreamed of driving that big red truck one day. He told his parents about his dream, but his mother shook her head. "Harry, we're hogs. We can't drive trucks. We live in the mud on this farm." But Harry didn’t give up. His dream to drive that big red truck kept him going. At bedtime, Harry told his brother about his dream, but his brother just told him to go to sleep. While Harry’s brother dreamed of rolling around in gooey mud, Harry couldn’t stop thinking about driving that big red truck. Harry was always the first hog awake in the mornings, eager to watch Farmer Jenkins pull up in that big red truck. The other hogs were already thinking about breakfast, but Harry was focused on studying every move Farmer Jenkins made as he parked and unloaded their food. One morning, Harry woke up before dawn. The sky was still dark, and the air was thick with clouds. He thought he might’ve woken up too early, but it wasn’t the time—it was just a stormy morning. Heavy rain started to pour down as a loud crash of thunder shook the farm. Despite the storm, Harry was determined to see that big red truck, so he slipped into his bright yellow raincoat and boots—his name written on the sides—and ran to the end of the hog pen to watch.

The Talking Toy In the small, snowy town of Everpine, Meghan and her friends—Lila, Sam, and Benny—were playing near the park when Meghan spotted something under a bench. By the fourth day, hope dwindled, but Meghan refused to give up. The Grumpy Shopkeeper Outside Suthie’s General Store, the kids hesitated. Mr. Suthie had a reputation for being mean. “We shouldn’t go here,” Sam whispered. “Every place counts,” Meghan said, her voice firm. When Meghan approached the shop’s bulletin board, the door creaked open, and Mr. Suthie appeared. “What are you kids doing?” he barked. Meghan explained nervously. Mr. Suthie frowned but surprised them by saying, “Put it up. Make it neat.” “You’re doing a good thing,” he added, his voice softening. “People don’t care about small things anymore.” The kids were speechless but thanked him before moving on. Finding Ethan Days later, outside the town’s church, they saw a boy staring at the Christmas rehearsal through frosty glass. Meghan approached. “Are you okay?” The boy, Ethan, nodded hesitantly. “I… lost something important.” Meghan held up the toy. “Is this it?” Ethan’s eyes lit up. “It’s mine! My sister made it for me before she moved away.” Meghan pressed the button: Merry Christmas, Ethan!

Max's eyes widened with surprise. The owl continued, "Germs can spread when we touch things that have germs on them, like doorknobs or toys, and then touch our faces." Max thought about all the things he touched before getting sick. But the owl had good news: "There's a magic way to keep germs away: washing our hands with soap and water!" Max was curious about this magic. Max went to the sink and washed his hands with soap and water. He rubbed his hands together to make lots of bubbles and rinsed them thoroughly. After washing, Max felt cleaner and fresher. As the days passed, Max started to feel better. He was strong and healthy again, thanks to washing his hands regularly. Max was happy to play outside with his friends once more.

(page 6) Meanwhile, Cytotoxic (Killer) T cells arrive! They find infected cells and destroy them to stop the pathogen’s plan! (page 7) Once the battle is almost won, Regulatory T cells make sure the superheroes don’t attack too much. They help the immune system calm down and return to normal. (page 8) After the battle, some B cells turn into Memory Cells. These cells remember the villain so they can defeat it even faster next time! (page 9) Bella feels better! Her primary immune response was strong, and next time, her secondary immune response will be even quicker! (page 10) Thanks to the Immune System Superheroes, Bella is safe! Her body is always ready for the next adventure!
